This story is about an independent woman in her mid-thirties who traveled halfway around the globe to trace her ancestry and how it was connected to World War II. She started out believing she had a plan on how to find evidence of her family's ancestry only to discover that she had reached an impasse and was completely lost. About to give up, she encountered new information that kept her going. As she neared the end of her journey she had no way of knowing the truth that lay around the corner. Her journey led her to new friendships, self-realization, enlightenment, and a new perspective on life-and her discoveries set her free. The senbazuru origami cranes were her guardian angels that protected her and guided her on the path to her destiny.
