Brittany Josie found poetry in a dark moment of her life. A friend introduced her to the work of Audre Lorde, a self-described “black, lesbian, mother, warrior, poet”. The rest is history. 'Weatherveins' blurs the lines of poetry and turns the medium on its head. There are no rules, and there shouldn't be. Brittany Josie's raw words embody what it means to be vulnerable, and she refuses to apologize for her honesty. She writes like a force of nature, citing subtle sexism hiding in plain sight, the grief of lost relationships, and the pain of setting personal boundaries.

Brittany Josie is currently living in the mountains of Silverthorne, Colorado while working on her second book, due for release in 2021.
